Shweta Chandrashekhar

Shweta Chandrashekhar recently completed her Ph.D. in Special Education from the University of Wisconsin–Madison in the summer of 2025. She holds dual master’s degrees in English and Special and Inclusive Education, along with over a decade of K–12 experience as a special educator and teacher educator overseas. Her prior professional experiences, combined with her perspectives as a parent to a disabled teen in the P-12 system, clinical supervisor, researcher, and teaching assistant within the university, deepened her commitment to improving educational access and collaborative practices in school-university partnerships.

Shweta’s research applies intersectionality, cultural-historical lenses and systems analysis to primarily understand how learning within institutional systems and related personnel shape educator preparation programs, exploring how policy, practice, and research converge to bridge theory-practice gaps that enhance outcomes for all students in diverse classroom settings.
