Arati Bapat

Arati Bapat (she/her) is a teacher educator and researcher. She is a doctoral candidate and an instructor in the elementary education program at the Department of Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. She is a researcher on the CALL for Equity Centered Leadership (CALL/ECL) project. 

Arati’s work examines how teachers make sense of various pedagogical and equity-related issues in teaching mathematics. She believes in the role of teachers in transforming the learning experiences of students. She is also a part of a research team that studies how teachers learn responsive teaching practices through collaborative pedagogical reasoning.

Arati has previously served as a curriculum developer, teacher educator, and researcher in India. She holds an M.A. in education.
